| Well,
another competition year has come to a close. We had a
real hard time getting the first contest up and running
this year, Mother Nature wouldn't cooperate at all, but
we'll forgive her. For those of you who are new to the
Georgia District, don't be discouraged because of all
the contest cancellations. I know you look forward to
the contests that are scheduled, but sometimes there just
arenŐt waves, so we have no choice but to cancel. Just
be patient, cancelling contests are a way of life in the
Georgia District! The main thing is to stay updated by
calling the contest update line at 912-786-8478. That's
the first place you can find out about contest dates &
cancellations. We keep the message updated every Thursday,
Friday, and Saturday before a scheduled contest. Call
it! It could save you a wasted drive! |

I
would once again like to thank everyone for all the great
help setting up, breaking down, judging, tabulating & announcing
the contests this year. We traveled to quite a few contests
this year, the AAU FreeStyle Scholastics, the South Carolina
State Championships, the Mid Atlantic Regionals, and the East
Coast & US Championships. All of our competitors did really
well at all of these this season. A couple really stood out,
Jere Wilson & Ryan Hruda. They stood out so well that they
both made the All-Star team!! Congratulations fellas! It always
does my heart good to see a Georgia District member decked
out in All-Star gear. Out of over 7000 members, there are
only 38 All-Stars, and we are proud to claim 2 of them now!
This will be the 4th year in a row that we have had an All-Star
from the Georgia District. I guess we'll have to wait and
see who will carry the torch on through the 2002 season. It
could be you!
Yearly membership dues will be increased to $25 beginning
January 1st. The $3 per additional division will remain the
same. So, if you are expired or about to expire, you'de better
renew before the first or it will cost you an extra $5. December
31st also marks the end of the competition year & the membership
count. Those of you who do not renew by DECEMBER 15TH will
go to the bottom of the list for Regionals slots. The amount
of current members we have as of Dec. 31st determines the
number of slots we get in each division, so if your membership
is not current, you did not help to earn that slot for the
district, and it is not fair to give you a slot above someone
else who is. So please, RENEW, RENEW, RENEW before December
15th!!!
Now, there's a ton of information in this issue, so make sure
you read the whole thing. Then, tell or show your parents
this WEBsite so they can read it, too! Check here often for
new information!
